Array Antenna – Basic Principle and Applications *

Abstract – Basic principle and applications for array antenna techniques are presented. In order to make the array antenna understandable to non-specialists, the array theory is discussed depending on the physical insight into the problem of receiving signals by multiple antennas/receivers. Examples of applications are limited to the simple cases of interference mitigation and estimation of signal arrival angles.
